“No act of kindness no matter how small is ever wasted.”-Aesop
A recent trip to Red Sands Beach, proved to be slightly damaging to my son’s pride and body. After climbing a reef to capture some fantastic wave shots on his cell phone, an oops” moment transpired. A large wave hit the reef, throwing him off guard and in turn to lose his cell in the water. While reaching down to recover it, he also sliced his hand and toe on the rough surfaces.
After returning to the car and flushing the areas with bottled water, which brought on a lot of pain, I couldn’t find my first aid kit. With the use of a .99 bandana, we stopped the bleeding. Determined to finish the hike over the hill to find the beach, we moved forward.
Jerry and Nadine, during their return from the beach, noticed my son’s hand. (A pink bandana would capture anyone’s attention) “Did you cut yourself?” Jerry asked. Brandon explained what happened. Jerry stated they had something in their backpack that would help. They cleaned his wound with normal saline, antibiotic ointment and a Band-Aid.
So here’s a shout out to Jerry and Nadine for showing kindness to strangers. Thanks to you, a nasty, deep, gash in his hand that could have gotten infected, was prevented by you. Your concern touched our hearts and proved that wonderful people still exists.
